Make community kimchi
Kimchi opens up a world of flavor: bright and deep, sweet and oceanic, tangy and bubbling with life. But kimchi is more than Korea's most famous food. It's one of the oldest ways Koreans say I'm taking care of you.
Secret ingredient
Crunchy vegetables. Salt. Time. Kimchi sauce. And people.
Together we'll mix a vibrant kimchi sauce, fold it into brined cabbage, and pack it into containers to ferment at home. That gathering has a name: kimjang. For centuries, Korean families and neighbors have made kimchi in one big noisy batch, then split it among themselves for the long winter. Too much work for one person. Exactly right for a group.
Take home
Every family takes home one container and leaves some to share. Confidence to make more at home. And a tradition worth repeating.
